We were driving in between snow storms to a lovely village, Waidring in Tirol, and arriving in front of a cozy looking chalet called Alpegg Chalet. Roland, the owner of the chalets, welcomed us warmly. The long traveling day made me feel tired and ready to fall asleep.
Waking up early in the morning right in the middle of a beautiful winter wonderland made me feel like a princess in a fairy tale.
Back to nature @ Alpegg Chalet in Waidring
We were staying in a chalet which looked like a little hut somewhere in the wilderness—surrounded by gorgeous details, the chalet made out of wood, made us feel home. We loved our cozy little hut. The living room has special decoration, which makes chilling on the sofa super cozy. Right next to it, the sauna invites for relaxing hours after having a fantastic skiing day in the close ski resorts.
The kitchen made us inviting our friends who came over for dinner. The steak tasted delicious.
I felt in love with that place after waking up in the morning, super ready for having a lovely breakfast. We received freshly made bread from the local bakery, fresh eggs from the chickens which are owned by the family. The fresh milk delivered every morning in an old local milk jug, which I remember from my grand ma’s stories. It is so HEIMAT (home).
Skiresort Steinplatte / Waidring
Since I have been a kid, I always skied at the Steinplatte, at least once per season. Usually, we always went there for some essential ski races during the winter. I always loved the area; primarily, the groomed pistes are amazingly prepared and provide perfect conditions to fully send it with a GS 180 cm and 21 Radius.

The lovely family of the Alpegg Chalet
I am super proud of the lovely people managing Alpegg Chalet as they take care of our tradition and appreciate our nature. The love that the family put into every chalet reflected in our mood. We were happy to be here. Cornelia and Roland have come up with every detail that made the chalet so comfortable.
The family who runs the chalet was super friendly; they were interested in getting to know us while enjoying a self-made „Schnaps“ and some yummy candies. Even the son of Roland, the owner of the Alpegg Chalet, had a chat with us.
The warm environment and the lovely made details the chalet had to offer made us feel happy to be there. The chalet invites couples, families, and people who want to experience extraordinary wilderness days. The fantastic surrounding invites me to relax. Everyone who wants to connect home and wants to get inspired is welcome.
